LIKE A LADY

After several seasons of the 90s and early 2000s fashion boom, it's time for a return to the 60s. Therefore, when putting together your fall wardrobe, take a closer look at designs like satin dresses, flared skirts, swing coats and buttoned tweed constructions.

Perfect runway inspirations include sophisticated dresses from Givenchy and Jacquemus, as well as captivating models from Marni. Here, it's also worth paying attention to accessories, which, when paired with selected clothing styles, will further emphasize the retro vibe and elevate the look to a higher level. Emulating the 60s style, equally spectacular proposals from Bottega Veneta and Versace can also be considered. Stunning sets with perfectly tailored blazers as the main feature will work well for both everyday wear and special occasions.

STARRING: THE COLLAR

A high-set collar is undoubtedly the most important feature of designs that we should consider when creating fall and winter outfits. This somewhat unexpected trend has taken over the runways of the most recognizable brands, solidifying its position at London, New York, Milan and Paris fashion weeks.

The most interesting interpretations came from Alexander McQueen, Acne Studios, and Proenza Schouler. The fur tops and oversized cardigans with collars reminiscent of exaggerated 17th-century ruffs presented by Seán McGirr made a significant impression on us. From the Scandinavian brand, we were most captivated by the enormous furs, coats and jackets, while the American duo impressed us especially with shirtdresses and minimalist knit tops.

SECOND SKIN

If we had to choose one material to wear throughout the upcoming season, without a shadow of a doubt, it would be leather. This year’s runways showcased it in almost every possible form, impressing with its innovative designs and eye-catching colors.

We spotted exceptionally innovative projects at Acne Studios and Balenciaga. Although the original constructions of blazers and bodysuits stood out, what captivated us the most were the black dresses, like Demna Gvasalia's model, which resembled a jacket draped over the body. The collections also focused on other quintessentially autumnal colors. Browns, burgundies, greens and navy blues dominated the shows at Ferragamo, Chloé and Gucci, covering coats, capes, pants, jackets, shirts and skirts.

TOMORROW WILL BE FUR

If leather doesn't particularly interest you, you will surely love the fur-textured designs that have triumphed on the runways. The selection is vast, as creative directors did not limit themselves to outerwear, showcasing a whole array of dresses, tops, skirts and even... bags!

An unconventional solution, for example, was black fur mini skirts with matching oversized sleeves by Alaïa. Pastels, beiges and grassy greens appeared at Dries Van Noten in seemingly every possible wardrobe element or accessory, while the most fashionable fall shade, khaki, along with yellow, added character to Burberry's maxi dresses. Outerwear, specifically refined fur models, turned out to be Saint Laurent's specialty this year. Anthony Vaccarello prepared so many color variants that each of you will surely find your favorite.
